The Cerritos
College men's cross country team compiled 325 team
points at the State Championships at Woodward Park
in Fresno on Saturday to finish in 10th place. San
Bernardino Valley College won the championship with
67 team points, while two teams from the South Coast
Conference finished ahead of the Falcons.
Sophomore
Patrick
Schwab (Kennedy HS) led the
team with a 32nd place finish in a time of 21:02,
while freshman
Gabriel
Hilbert (Kennedy HS) wasn't
far behind, as his time of 21:19 put him in 55th
place overall out of the 219 runners that competed
in the 4-mile race.
Sophomore Torion
Bailey (Mayfair HS) ran a
solid race and placed 76th overall with a time of
21:34, while freshman
Jason Zapien (El Rancho HS)
slipped to 82nd place and was clocked in 21:38.
Rounding out the staff for the Falcons were
sophomore John
Martinez (Artesia HS), who
placed 109th in 21:57, with sophomore
Angel
Aguirre (Valencia HS) turning
in a time of 21:59, which put him in 111th place.
Sophomore
Russell
Kelly (Loara HS) posted a time
of 22:12, good for 131st place.
