With just 35 points separating second place from sixth place at the Southern California Championships at Mt. San Antonio College on Friday, the Cerritos College men's cross country team did their best for some late race kicking to try and move up a place or two. But the Falcons wound up in sixth place with 169 team points and will now advance to the State Championships, which will take place on November 21 at Woodward Park in Fresno. San Bernardino Valley College won the championship with 56 team points, while Cerritos was just edged out by Orange Coast College (134 team points), Glendale College (140), Mt. San Antonio College (160) and El Camino College (165). The latter two are members of the South Coast Conference with Cerritos.
