Cerritos Track & Field (2011): Set new school records in the 5000 meters (14:52.16) and 10,000 meters (31:11.80) and placed second at the state championships in both events… Won the Southern California championship in the 5000 meters and came in fourth place in the 10,000 meters after winning the South Coast Conference championship in both events… Also ran the 800 meters (1:57.14), 1500 meters (3:55.33) and 3000 meters (8:55.81) during the season…..

El Rancho HS: Spent two seasons on the cross country team and posted a personal best time of 15:17 as a sophomore… Won the Del Rio League championship in the 3200 (9:18) meters all four years on the track and field team… Also won the 1600 (4:18) meters as a senior and placed third in the 800 meters (1:57)…..

Personal: Most memorable moment was his personal best time of 9:18 in the 3200 meters to win the Arcadia Invitational as a senior… Would like to transfer to Cal State Long Beach or any PAC-12 school… Likes to shoot pool in his spare time… Also speaks French… Has one sister – Edith (24)… Is the son of Jorge and Ana Herrera… Born in Downey, CA on November 29, 1992…..
