of the most impressive defensive efforts ever
seen, defeating four of the top teams in the state in

for the second time in three years and they will play on

made the most of his opportunity in the few minutes of
playing time he had in the Cerritos College men's soccer
Southern California Regional Playoff game at home
against El Camino College on Saturday afternoon. With
the winner advancing to the state championships, Huerta
put a loose ball into the lower right corner of the net
in the 88th minute to give the Falcons a 1-0 win. The
victory advances Cerritos into the state Final Four for
the second time in three years and they will play their
semi-final game next Friday against Fresno City College
at 10:00 a.m. at Fresno Pacific University. Back in 2004,
the Falcons reached the championship game, where they
were defeated by Santa Ana College, a team Cerritos

Falcons a 1-0 win at Santa Ana College on Tuesday in the
second round of the Southern California Regional
Playoffs. The win knocks off the two-time defending
state champions and moves the fifth-seeded Falcons
(17-3-5) to the next round, where they will face
#8-seeded El Camino College, who upset top-seeded Mt.
San Antonio, 2-1 on Tuesday. Cerritos will host the
Warriors (17-7-2) on Saturday, December 2 at 2:00 p.m.
with the winner advancing to the state championships the
following weekend at Fresno Pacific University. In their

Barbara City College at home on Saturday. The Falcons
(16-3-5), seeded #5 in the playoffs, will now travel to
Santa Ana College on Tuesday at 2:00 p.m. to take on the
#4-seeded Dons. Santa Ana, who received a bye in the
first round, is also the two-time defending state
champion and defeated the Falcons in the state

gets #5-seed after dust settles
After finishing in second place in the
South Coast Conference, the Cerritos College men's
soccer team was seeded #5 in the Southern California
Regional Playoffs and will host a first round game on
Saturday. The Falcons, who were ranked as high as #2 in
Southern California into the final week of the season,
saw their power rating drop after all teams in the state
reported all of their games. As a result, Cerritos
(15-3-5 overall) went from earning a first round bye
(the top four seeds earn a bye) to hosting #12-seeded
Santa Barbara City College (12-6-3) at 2:00 p.m. The
Vaqueros came in third place in the Western State

wins prepares team for post season
With their 1-0 South Coast Conference
home win against El Camino College on Friday afternoon,
the Cerritos College men's soccer team will now wait for
the outcome of the Long Beach City College game at East
Los Angeles College this evening to find out if they
finished the regular season in second place or tied for
first place. The Falcons finished the regular season
with a 15-3-5 overall record, while they ended 9-1-4 in
SCC place, good for 31 points. Should East LA defeat the
Vikings tonight, there would be a tie for first place
and the two teams will share the championship. Cerritos
will open the Southern California Regional Playoffs as
the #2-seeded team and will receive a bye in the first
round before hosting an opponent to be determined in the

Looking to move into a first place tie in
the South Coast Conference, the Cerritos College men's
soccer team finished in a 1-1 tie with Long Beach City
College on Tuesday afternoon. With the draw, the
Falcons, rated #2 in the state, are now 8-1-4 in the SCC,
good for 28 points, while the Vikings, rated #4, are now
10-2-1 for 31 points. With just one regular season game
remaining, Cerritos (14-3-5 overall) will host El Camino
College on Friday at home at 3:00 p.m., while LBCC will
travel to East Los Angeles College for a 6:00 p.m. game.

Long Beach , they must win, while the Vikings must

Harbor keeps Falcons in the hunt for conference title
Looking to stay within striking distance
of first place in the South Coast Conference, the
Cerritos College men's soccer team scored three second
half goals to post a 3-0 home win against Los Angeles
Harbor College on Friday. The win moved the Falcons,
ranked #2 in the state, to 14-3-4 on the year and they
are now 8-1-3 in conference action, good for 27 points
and at least a share of second place. Not only did the
win extend their unbeaten streak to eight games (7-0-1),
it kept them close to first place Long Beach City
College (27 points entering the day) and second place
Mt. San Antonio College (25 points entering the day),
who faced each other today. Cerritos will host Long
Beach City next Tuesday at 3:00 p.m. and then close out

beat top-rated team in the country, 2-0
The Cerritos College men's soccer team
recorded their biggest win of the season on Tuesday
afternoon when they defeated Mt. San Antonio College,
2-0 in a South Coast Conference game. The Mounties
entered the game ranked #1 in both the nation and state
and the win secured the team's third place spot in the
conference with three regular season games remaining.
With the win, the Falcons, who are ranked #2 in the
state and in Southern California, are now 13-3-4 overall
and 7-1-3 in the conference for 24 points, while Mt. SAC
is now 17-2-2 on the year and 8-2-1 in the SCC for 25
points. Long Beach City currently leads the conference
with a 9-2-0 record for 27 points. The Falcons will now
host seventh place Los Angeles Harbor at 3:00 p.m. on
Friday and then host the first place Vikings next

After a disheartening 2-2 tie against ECC
Compton Center on Tuesday, the Cerritos College men's
soccer team was not about to let their 2-1 halftime lead
slip away against Pasadena City College at home on
Friday. The Falcons picked up an insurance goal in the
78th minute to post a 3-1 South Coast Conference win.
With the victory, Cerritos is now 12-3-4 overall and
6-1-3 in the conference, while the Lancers fell to 8-6-5
overall and 3-4-3 in the SCC. Next up for Cerritos will
be a crucial game at Mt. San Antonio College on Tuesday
at 3:00 p.m. The Mounties, who handed Cerritos their

The Cerritos College men's soccer team
took a 2-0 lead in their South Coast Conference game at
ECC Compton Center on Tuesday afternoon and it appeared
as though that would be enough offense to win the game.
However, the Tartars scored two late goals to forge a
tie with the Falcons, who are currently ranked #2 in
Southern California. The draw snapped a four-game
winning streak, but the team still has a five-game
unbeaten streak intact. Cerritos will now host Pasadena

while the Huskies (7-6-5 overall) dropped to 2-4-2 in
the SCC for eight points. On the year, Cerritos is
11-3-3 and they have the second highest power rating in
Southern California. The team will try to extend their

Looking to hold on to their third place

Cerritos College men's soccer team went to El Camino
College on Tuesday afternoon and handed them their first

victory, the Falcons are now 10-3-3 on the year and
4-1-2 in the SCC for 14 points, while the Warriors
slipped to 12-4-1 overall and 4-2-1 in the SCC for 13

5-1 South Coast Conference win over Los Angeles Harbor
on Tuesday afternoon to improve the team's record to
8-3-3 overall and 2-1-2 in conference play. In the five
conference games, Rico now has six goals and seven on

straight road games when they travel to Long Beach City

The Cerritos College men's soccer team
saw their 10-game unbeaten streak come to an end after
Mt. San Antonio College posted a 2-1 win against the
Falcons at Cerritos on Friday afternoon. Heading into
the game, the Falcons were 7-0-3 after losing their
first two games of the season and now drop to 7-3-3
overall and 1-1-2 in conference action. For the
Mounties, they improve to 12-1-1 overall and 3-1-0 in

streak on Tuesday when they travel to Los Angeles Harbor

Looking to extend their unbeaten streak

needed to come back from a 1-0 deficit against Pasadena

In a game that had a playoff atmosphere
to it, both the Cerritos College and El Camino College
Compton Center men's soccer teams did their best to
position themselves for any offensive opportunities.
Both had their chances, but were turned away by some
nifty goalkeeping, as the schools played to a 0-0 tie in
a South Coast Conference game played at Cerritos on
Friday afternoon. With the draw, the Falcons are now
7-2-2 on the season and 1-0-1 in conference action,

The Cerritos College men's soccer team
took their first step towards challenging for the South
Coast Conference championship after they posted a 2-0
conference-opening win at East Los Angeles College on
Tuesday night. Entering the game, the Huskies (5-4-3)
were ranked 20th in the country. With the win, the
Falcons are now 7-2-1 overall and are unbeaten in their

In their final tune-up before embarking

(6-0-1) improved their record to 6-2-1 on the season,

atmosphere, the Cerritos College men's soccer team
played a very tightly contested game against Oxnard

unbeaten streak to six games, as they are now 5-2-1 on
the year, while Oxnard is now 3-2-2. Cerritos will now

Looking to exact a little revenge for
their ousting from the Southern California Regional
Playoffs last season, the Cerritos College men's soccer
team scored two first half goals and went on to post a
2-0 victory over Rio Hondo College in a non-conference
game at Cerritos on Wednesday. The win was the fifth in
the row for the Falcons, who are now 5-2-0 on the season
and they will play host to Oxnard College at 4:00 p.m.

Falcons respond with two wins to take consolation
The Cerritos College men's soccer team
rebounded from an opening round loss at the prestigious
Hartnell Tournament over the weekend and won their next
two games to capture the consolation championship. It
marked the first time the team had won the consolation
title since they competed in the tournament. After
opening with a 2-0 loss to Fresno City College, the
Falcons (2-2-0) posted a 2-1 win over American River
College followed by a 4-0 victory over Canada College.
