2006 Men's Soccer News...

This Week's Sports Schedule

11.14.06 - CERRITOS GETS #5-SEED AFTER DUST SETTLES

After finishing in second place in the South Coast Conference, the Cerritos College men's soccer team was seeded #5 in the Southern California Regional Playoffs and will host a first round game on Saturday. The Falcons, who were ranked as high as #2 in Southern California into the final week of the season, saw their power rating drop after all teams in the state reported all of their games. As a result, Cerritos (15-3-5 overall) went from earning a first round bye (the top four seeds earn a bye) to hosting #12-seeded Santa Barbara City College (12-6-3) at 2:00 p.m. The Vaqueros came in third place in the Western State Conference.

A win by Cerritos on Saturday will send them on the road to #4-seeded Santa Ana College, who earned the final bye in the first round and are the two-time defending state champion. The Falcons have not played either Santa Barbara City or Santa Ana this season. Tickets for Saturday's game are $5.00 for adults and $3.00 for students.
