Cerritos (2006):
Played in 23 games and registered
one assist… Was a very aggressive defensive
player and had one of the strongest legs on the
team… In addition to playing soccer, he was also
a member of the Falcon football team as a
place-kicker… Converted 2-of-4 field goals and
was the team’s kicker on kickoffs…
Paramount HS:
Missed his senior year due to injuries, but was
named the San Gabriel League’s Most Valuable
Player his junior season… Also selected 1st
Team All-CIF and named to the Press Telegram
Dream Team… Helped lead the team to the league
team and advanced to the semi-finals of the CIF
Championships… As a sophomore, he was named 1st
Team all-league and 2nd Team All-CIF,
while being named 2nd Team all-league
as a freshman… Also spent four years on the
football team and was a two-time 1st
Team all-league selection as a punter… Named to
the Press Telegram Dream Team as a senior, while
he set a new school record with a 78-yard punt
and had 20 punts land inside the 20-yard line…
Earned 2nd Team all-league honors as
a freshman and sophomore… Kicked a school record
58-yard field goal his freshman season… Also
spent one season on the volleyball team…..
Personal:
Most memorable moment was when he scored the
game-tying goal to send the game into overtime
against Gahr High and when he became the first
player in his school’s history to be named the
league’s MVP in over 25 years … Would like to
transfer to either UC Irvine or Cal State
Fullerton… Is studying to be either an athletic
trainer or a radiologist… Likes to draw in his
spare time… Nicknamed “Chuy”… Has three siblings
– Alondra (22), Ricardo (19) and Maria (11)… Is
the son of Ricardo and Maricela Ochoa… Born in
Paramount, CA on February 10, 1988….. |
