After
coming in second place in the tough South Coast
Conference, the Cerritos College men’s soccer team was
awarded the #2 seed for the upcoming Southern California
Regional Playoffs. The Falcons, the defending state
champions, were seeded right behind Mt. San Antonio
College, who won the conference title. Cerritos (17-3-4)
will get a bye in the first round and will play next
Tuesday (November 20) against the winner of the game
between Oxnard College and Santa Barbara City College,
which will be played this Saturday. The Falcons will
play their game next Tuesday at 2:00 p.m.
Oxnard (12-3-6)
was seeded #7, while Santa Barbara City (12-6-3) is the
12th seeded team. The two teams finished in
the top two spots in the Western State Conference and
split their games against each other this season.
Cerritos is familiar with the Condors, who won the
conference championship, as they posted a 3-1 win over
them earlier in the season. The Falcons have not faced
Santa Barbara City College this season. |
