Cerritos (2008): Named 2nd Team All-South Coast Conference… Appeared in 20 games and scored three goals with four assists… Scored the team’s second goal in a 2-0 win over El Camino College… Accounted for a pair of assists in a 6-3 win over Golden West College, while scoring a goal in the season-opener…..

Long Beach Millikan HS: Played for CSCR Brigade of the Premiere League… Was a two-time 1st Team All-Moore League selection and team captain… Named 1st Team All-CIF as a senior and was a 2nd Team All-CIF selection as a junior and sophomore…  Team finished with a school-record 28-2-3 record his junior season… Helped the team win the league title as a senior and sophomore, while they advanced to the CIF semi-finals his sophomore season… Earned the Coaches Award as a freshman and was a 2nd Team all-league pick…..

Personal: Most memorable moment was when he scored the game’s only goal to advance his team to the CIF semi-finals his sophomore year… His younger brother Edgar (18) is his teammate with the Falcons this season… Has two other siblings – Jose and Veronica… Likes to go swimming in his spare time… Nicknamed “Sava”… Is the son of Salvador and Esther Melendez… Born on December 5, 1988…..
