04.18.09 - Team effort helps Falcons
finish third
Despite not winning any
events, the Cerritos College men's swimming team used a
strong team effort to help them compile 515 team points
at the South Coast Conference Championships at Chaffey
College on Saturday and finished in third place. Mt. San
Antonio College won the meet with 645 team points, with
El Camino College in second place with 594 points. The
top 16 times in the state in each event advance to the
state championships, which will be held at Long Beach

04.04.09 - Men do very well at
Pasadena Invitational
With 15 teams entered in the
Pasadena Invitational over the weekend, the Cerritos
College men's swimming team compiled 215 points to
finish in ninth place. In five of the races, Falcon
swimmers finished in the top 10, with four of those
coming from freshman

(La Serna HS). Cerritos will now send their two
divers to the South Coast Conference Diving
Championships, which will take place at El Camino

conference meet
Despite three wins from

(La Serna HS), the Cerritos College men's
swimming team came out on the wrong end of an 87-44
South Coast Conference score against Chaffey College on
Friday. The loss dropped the team's conference record to
4-3, while they will now enter the Pasadena Invitational

03.20.09 - Team defeats two conference
opponents
Led by three wins from both
freshmen
Matt Mendoza
(La Serna HS) and
Berner
Figueroa (Paramount HS), the
Cerritos College men's swimming team picked
up a pair of South Coast Conference wins on Friday. The
Falcons defeated both El Camino College (70.5-60.5) and
Rio Hondo College (118-12) to run their record to 4-2 on
the season. The team will now travel to Chaffey College
on Friday for a 2:30 p.m. meet that will close out their

03.13.09 - Falcons win six events in
conference meet
Facing a pair of teams in a
South Coast Conference meet in Friday, the Cerritos
College men's swimming team won six events, as they
split with the two schools. The Falcons (2-2) defeated
Los Angeles Trade-Tech College, 118-10, but were
defeated by host Long Beach City College, 66-64. The
team will now travel to El Camino College on Friday for
another 2:30 p.m. conference meet against the host
Warriors and Rio Hondo College...[more]
02.27.09 - Cerritos splits three-way
meet
The Cerritos College men's
swimming team opened South Coast Conference on Friday in
a three-way meet and split with the other two teams they
faced. The Falcons (1-1) defeated host Pasadena City
College, 69-62, while they dropped an 88-43 decision to
Mt. San Antonio College. The team will now travel to
Long Beach City College on Friday at 2:30 p.m. to face
the host Vikings, along with Los Angeles Trade-Tech

02.20.09 - Falcons take fifth at
Golden West meet
The Cerritos College men's
swimming team had one swimmer come in third place and
three in fifth place in their respective events at the
Golden West Sprint Meet on Saturday. As a result, the
Falcons finished in fifth place as a team with 758 team
points. The team will now open South Coast Conference
action next Friday when they travel to Pasadena City
College to take on the Lancers and Mt. San Antonio

05.26.08 - Swimmers earn All-American
honors
A trio of Cerritos College
men’s swimmers, along with one relay team, have earned
All-American honors in a list that was recently
released. Those who finished with one of the top 16
times in each event earned All-American status. Leading
the list was sophomore
Nikos
Kostianis (Downey HS), who earned
All-American honors in three events and in the relay
race, while both sophomore
Tristan Friend
(Liberty Christian HS) and freshman
Louie
Espinoza (Montebello HS) were
All-Americans in one event and also swam on the relay
race. The fourth member of the relay team was freshman
