Cerritos College sophomore swimmer
Paul Tse
(Kennedy
HS)
competed in three events
at the state championships this past weekend and turned
in two personal best times. In the 100-yard freestyle,
Tse posted a time of 47.28, which put him in 11th place
overall, while he came in 13th place in the 100-yard
backstroke. His time of 54.53 in the event was also shy
of the school record of 53.19, set by
Ryan Kelly
in 1999.
For his efforts, Tse earned All-American honors by
placing in the top 16 in those two events. He also swam
in the 200-yard individual medley, but did not advance
to the championship round.
With his two finishes, Tse collected
10 team points, which put the Falcons in a tie for 31st
place, with Orange Coast Coast College winning the title
with 508 team points. Ventura College (465 team
points) and Golden West College (463 points) were a
close second and third place. |
