Spent the last year and a half at the
US Military Academy at West Point, NY… While in high
school, he spent four years on the swimming team…
Named the Freeway League Most Valuable Player, his
team’s MVP and advanced to the CIF Finals his senior
season… Through his first three years, he
specialized in the 500-yard freestyle and posted a
personal best time of 4:40.16… Also swam the
200-yard individual medley (2:02.60), 100-yard
backstroke (55.35) and 200-yard freestyle (1:46.76)…
As a junior, he reached the CIF Finals and won the
league in the 500-yard freestyle, while his team won
the league title… Team also won the league title as
a junior and he reached the CIF Finals… Voted the
team’s Rookie of the Year as a freshman after he
advanced to the CIF Finals… Was coached by former
Falcon swimmers Al Reyes and Roy Contreras… Most
memorable moment was when he was a consolation
finalist at the 18-Under Nationals at Stanford
University in the summer of 2004… Plans to return to
the Army upon graduation from college… Would like to
transfer to either UCLA or UC Berkeley and aspires
to be a city councilman, congressman or house dad…
His sister, Gina (17), is a swimmer in high school…
Likes to hang out with the team in his spare time…
Nicknamed “Eddie”… Is the son of Sung and Sun Hee
Kim… Born in Los Angeles, CA on September 1, 1987….. |
