The Cerritos College men's
swimming team won 12 of the 15
events that were held in their
South Coast Conference meet on
Friday at Mt. San Antonio
College. As a result, the
Falcons posted a 78-53 win to
improve their season record to
4-1 with just one conference
meet remaining. The team will
travel to Pasadena City College
on Friday to take on the Lancers
and Los Angeles Trade-Tech
College.
Kostianis picked up first
place finishes in the 100-yard
backstroke (53.30), 200-yard
backstroke (1:58.61) and
100-yard butterfly (54.42),
while the quartet captured the
200-yard medley relay in a time
of 1:42.52. For Friend, he won
the 200-yard freestyle
(1:47.59), 200-yard butterfly
(2:07.44) and 500-yard freestyle
(4:56.52) with Espinoza coming
out on top in the 100-yard
breaststroke (1:03.30), 200-yard
breaststroke (2:19.77) and
200-yard individual medley
(2:01.44).
Others winning events included
sophomore
Billy Smith (Cypress
HS) in the 1000-yard
freestyle with a time of
11:01.08 and freshman diver
Nashon
Hull with 119.50
points.
