04.30.06 - Twins Reach Quaterfinals Of Ojai Tournament Doubles
Cerritos College freshmen twin men's tennis players Jackie Vachirajongkol (Paramount HS) and Jeffrey Vachirajongkol (Paramount HS) defeated three opponents to reach the quarterfinals of the 106th Annual Ojai Tournament doubles competition over the weekend. However, their run for the title was ended right there, as they were defeated, 0-6, 2-6 by Grossmont College's Colin Simpson and Zel Sperry. 04.26.06 - Falcons Defeated By Glendale In Playoffs
Earlier in the season, the Cerritos College men’s tennis team soundly defeated Glendale College, 9-0, in a non-conference match. On Tuesday in their Southern California Regional First Round Playoff match, the Falcons got a look at a new Vaquero team. The result was a 5-4 setback, which eliminated Cerritos from the team playoffs. 04.24.06 - Falcons Open Playoffs Against Glendale
Coming off their second straight undefeated South Coast Conference championship, the Cerritos College men’s tennis team was seeded sixth for the Southern California Regional Playoffs. As a result, the Falcons (14-3 overall) will travel to fourth-seeded Glendale College on Tuesday for a 2:00 p.m. match. Oddly enough, Cerritos easily defeated the Vaqueros, 9-0 back on February 14. 04.18.06 - Tennis Team Sweeps Through Conference Tournament
At the South Coast Conference Tournament this past week, the Cerritos College men’s tennis team continued to dominate, as they advanced their players into the finals of both the singles and doubles competition. The Falcons, who went undefeated in the conference for their second consecutive title, will now have three of their singles players and all three of their doubles teams advancing to the Southern California Championships, which will take part in Bakersfield from April 27-29. For the second year in a row, the Cerritos College men’s tennis team went through the South Coast Conference unscathed, as they closed out with a convincing 6-1 win over El Camino College on Tuesday. With the win, the Falcons, who host the conference tournament on Thursday through Saturday, finished the SCC season with their second straight 8-0 record and are now 11-3 on the season. The Cerritos College men’s tennis team suffered a tough 5-4 non-conference loss to Bakersfield College on Thursday afternoon at home which dropped their season record to 10-3.
