04.28.07 - Doubles team reaches quarterfinals at Ojai Tournament
This past weekend, the Cerritos College men's tennis team sent their squad to compete in the traditional Ojai Tournament and had a very successful showing in the doubles competition. The duo of sophomore twins Jeffrey Vachirajongkol (Paramount HS) and Jackie Vachirajongkol (Paramount HS) entered the tournament seeded fourth and won their first three matches before losing in the quarterfinals. The other Falcon doubles team, sophomores Chris Chutikorn (Cerritos HS) and James Lee (Cerritos HS), were seeded 15th and won their first two matches before being eliminated by the top-ranked team in the tournament. The Falcons, who won the last three South Coast Conference championships, will now move on to the Southern California Regional Playoffs, which will be held at the Barnes Center in San Diego this weekend...[more]
 

04.21.07 - Team sweeps through conference tournament
Last year, sophomore Cerritos College men's tennis player Jeffrey Vachirajongkol (Paramount HS) spent most of the season as the team's #1 singles player. At the same time, his twin brother, Jackie Vachirajongkol (Paramount HS) was the #2 singles player for the Falcons. When the two finally met up in the South Coast Conference singles championships, they kept up their their tradition each time they have faced each other in a tournament. It was resolved with a coin flip, with Jackie making the right call and with it the singles title. It was more of the same this year, as the two brother defeated their first three opponents to reach the championship match of the SCC singles tournament, which was held at Long Beach City College this past weekend. But, unlike what they've done their entire life, the two decided to play each other to see who would win. 04.12.07 - Falcons lose final match before tournament
In their final non-conference match before the start of the South Coast Conference Tournament, the Cerritos College men's tennis team suffered a difficult 5-4 loss at home against Orange Coast College on Thursday. The loss drops the Falcons, who recently concluded their third straight undefeated conference season, to 12-4 on the year. 04.04.07 - Team wins third straight conference title
For the third season in a row, the Cerritos College men's tennis team went undefeated in South Coast Conference action and won the championship. On Wednesday, the Falcons posted a 6-1 win over El Camino to run their SCC winning streak to 24 straight matches and will now host Orange Coast College in a non-conference match at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday...[more]
 

03.28.07 - Cerritos drops non-conference match
For the first time this season, the Cerritos College men's tennis team not only lost a doubles match, but they lost a match on the court, as Riverside Community College posted a 6-3 non-conference win at Cerritos on Thursday afternoon. The Falcons (11-3), who had to forfeit their first two matches of the season, had run off 11 straight wins before the loss to the Tigers, who improved to 15-3 on the season. 03.20.07 - Falcons keep winning streak going
Missing their head coach Alvin Kim because his wife was having a baby, the Cerritos College men's tennis team didn't let that keep them from continuing their three-year South Coast Conference winning streak. Under the guidance of Athletic Director Jeff Smith, the Falcons posted a 7-0 win over Mt. San Antonio College on Tuesday to improve their season record to 11-2, while they are now 7-0 in SCC play. Cerritos clinched their third conference championship in a row with the win and have now won 23 consecutive SCC matches. 03.15.07 - Win over Long Beach improves record to 10-2
The Cerritos College men's tennis team ran their season record to 10-2 overall and remained in first place at 6-0 in the South Coast Conference with a 6-1 home win over Long Beach City College on Thursday. The Falcons, who have won the conference title two years in a row, have now won their last 22 conference matches. They will now host Mt. San Antonio College next Tuesday at 2:00 p.m...[more]
 

03.13.07 - Short-handed Marymount no match for Falcons
Playing against a short-handed Marymount College team, the Cerritos College men's tennis team decided to rest a few players who were nursing injuries. The result was still a 5-2 South Coast Conference win, which improves their season record to 9-2 overall and 5-0 in conference play. 03.08.07 - Non-conference win over Fullerton puts record at 8-2
Taking a break from South Coast Conference action, the Cerritos College men's tennis team didn't let that prevent them from extending their winning streak on the year, as they posted an 8-1 win at Fullerton College on Thursday. The victory improves the Falcons season record to 8-2 after having to forfeit their first two matches of the season, and the win runs their winning streak to eight matches. 03.06.07 - Falcons remain unbeatable in conference play
The Cerritos College men's tennis team continued to remain unbeaten in South Coast Conference play, dating back three seasons, after they posted a 6-1 win at home against El Camino College on Tuesday afternoon. The Falcons are now 4-0 in SCC action and 7-2 overall and have not dropped a conference match in three years, running their winning streak to 20. 02.27.07 - Conference winning streak extended to 19
Ever since Alvin Kim was named the Cerritos College men's tennis coach three seasons ago, the Falcons have yet to lose a South Coast Conference match. After their convincing 7-0 win at Mt. San Antonio College on Tuesday afternoon, the Falcons are now 3-0 in the SCC this year and have extended their winning streak to 19 matches. 02.22.07 - Falcons sweep through Long Beach City
In two South Coast Conference matches this season, the Cerritos College men's tennis team has shut out their opponent to run their season record to 5-2, while they are 2-0 in conference action after their 7-0 win over Long Beach City College on Thursday. The Cerritos College men's tennis team needed just 50 minutes to dispose of Marymount College in their South Coast Conference opener at home on Tuesday afternoon. The Falcons, who are now 4-2 on the season after having to forfeit their first two matches, defeated the Mariners, 9-0. 02.13.07 - Win over Saddleback improves record to 3-2
After being forced to forfeit their first two matches of the season, the Cerritos College continued to remain undefeated in completed matches, as they posted a 7-2 non-conference home victory over Saddleback College on Tuesday afternoon. 02.08.07 - Falcons roll to 8-1 win over San Diego Mesa
The Cerritos College men's tennis team picked up their second straight win, as they recorded an 8-1 non-conference home win against San Diego mesa College on Thursday afternoon. With the win, the Falcons are 2-2 on the season and will look for their third win in a row when they host Saddleback College on Tuesday at 2:00 p.m. The team was to head down to San Diego this weekend to face Southwestern College and UC San Diego, but the matches have been postponed to a date yet to be determined...[more]


02.06.07 - Falcons come back for thrilling win
Facing one of the tougher teams in the state, the Cerritos College men's tennis team came back from a 4-2 deficit to win all three doubles matches to record a 5-4 non-conference win over Grossmont College in their first match at home this season.
