Cerritos College Tennis
(2011): Recorded a
17-4 record in singles play on the year… Was 8-2
in the #5 position, but also went 4-0 at the #3
position and 3-1 when playing at #4… Advanced to
the Southern California Championships after
reaching the quarterfinals of the South Coast
Conference Tournament… Received a bye in the
first round, but was eliminated in his first
match… Teamed up with Tomas Pierson-Perez in
doubles all season and went 10-11, which
included reaching the Southern California
Championships… Defeated in the second round
after earning a first round bye…..
Lakewood HS:
Finished second in the Moore League
Championships in singles and doubles after
winning the league title in singles and doubles
his junior season… Also won the league
championship in singles as a sophomore… His team
won the league championship… Named his team’s
Most Valuable Singles Player as a senior and
junior… Voted into the Lakewood Youth Hall of
Fame his senior and junior years… Spent four
years on the tennis team…..
Personal:
Most memorable moment was winning the league’s
singles and doubles title as a junior… Is also
taking classes at Cal State Long Beach… Enjoys
playing video games in his spare time… Has one
brother – Derek (22), who played tennis at
Cypress College… Is the son of Danny and Carol
Porter… Born in Bellflower, CA on February 29,
