The Cerritos College track
and field program hosted their annual invitational in
which upwards of 25 colleges competed in 15 running and
eight field events. Sophomore sprinter
Deangelo Mingo
(Desert Pines, NV HS/Lassen College) won the
100-meter race in a time of 10.77, while he came in
third place in the 200 meters at 22.25. On the day, the
Falcons won three events, with sophomore
Carlos
Santamaria (Paramount HS) capturing the
800 meters in a time of 1:55.81, while the 3200-meter
relay team was the first to cross the finish line in a
time of 8:00.2.
The team will now compete in
the Long Beach Relays on Saturday starting at 10:00 a.m.
on the campus of Cal State Long Beach.
