The Cerritos College men's track and
field team have advanced 11 competitors, along with both
of their relay teams to the Southern California Regional
Championships, which will be held at Mt. San Antonio
College on Friday. The Falcons saw sophomore
Joshua
Muwwakkil (Warren HS) win two events
(high jump and long jump), while sophomore
Deangelo Mingo
(Desert Pines, NV HS/Lassen College) placed
second in the 100 meters and sophomore
Lynwood Wyse
(Dorsey HS) placed third in the triple jump.
Below are all of the qualifiers for
the finals. To advance to the state championships, the
competitors will have to finish in the top four places
in all lane races, with the fastest fifth place time
between the north and south also qualifying. In the
field events and distance races, the top six advance to
the state championships
