With the first
invitational behind them on their new track, the
Cerritos College men's track and field team will look to
improve on their marks as the season progresses. The
Falcons, who performed well in the running events, will
now enter the USC Invitational this Saturday at 10:00
a.m. on the Southern
California
campus.
In the meet this past
weekend, sophomore sprinter
Anthony Harbor
(Bellflower HS) had the best individual finish,
as he came in second place in the 110-meter high hurdles
in a time of 15.14. He was followed closely by sophomore
teammate
Nickolas Blue (Carson HS), who placed
sixth in a time of 16.07. The Falcons were also
represented well in the 5000 meters, as freshman
Daniel Clifford-Sorenson (Lakewood HS)
placed fifth overall in the race with a time of
15:32.91, with freshman
Jonathan
Dillard (Lakewood HS) not far behind in
15:46.27, good for sixth place.
Several of the relay
teams ran well, while in the field events, freshman
Devin Farrow
(Valley Christian HS) came in sixth place in the
shot put with a distance of 43' 3", with sophomore
Benjamin Smith
(Cypress HS) registering a seventh place in the
javelin with a best throw of 160' 2".
