Running against some of the nation's elite on the second day of the California Relays at Cerritos College, the Falcon men's track and field team showed that they are capable of holding their own when faced with the best. Sophomore hurdler Anthony Harbor (Bellflower HS) posted a strong time of 15.02 to come in second place in the finals of the 110-meter high hurdles, while he was clocked in 56.56 in the 400-meter intermediate hurdles, which was good enough for fourth place.

As for distance runners Daniel Clifford-Sorenson (Lakewood HS), Jonathan Dillard (Lakewood HS) and Casey McCombs (Lakewood HS), the freshmen duo placed second, fifth and eighth, respectively in the 5000 meters. Clifford-Sorenson turned in a time of 15:08.40, which is one of the fastest times in school history, while Dillard came in 15:41.50 and McCombs finished the race in 16:05.49. Sophomore sprinter Genoa Dill (Compton HS) finished eighth in the finals of the 200 meters in a time of 22.40, while a pair of Falcons finished in the top 10 in the 800 meters. Sophomore Dennis Drisdom (Dominguez HS) came in ninth place (2:00.92), with freshman Miguel Ortega (John Glenn HS) placing 10th in 2:01.48. The 1600-meter relay team placed third in a time of 3:21.04.
