Competing against athletes from many
four-year universities, the Cerritos College men’s track
and field team compiled 20 team points and finished in
10th place with an abbreviated contingent.
The Falcons sent only a few of their athletes to the
Mountain T’s Invitational over the weekend, which was
held at Northern Arizona University. The team will now
get a good look at their South Coast Conference
competition when they compete in the All-Comers Meet,
which will be held at Mt. San Antonio College on
Saturday.
In the high
jump, freshman
Nicholas
Armstrong (Long Beach Poly HS) won the
event with a jump of 6’ 7¼”, while in the 800 meters,
sophomore
Jonathan Dillard (Lakewood HS) came in
second place with a time of 2:06.27. The Falcons were
well-represented in the 3000 meters, as they entered
four runners, with three finishing in the top 10.
Freshman
Bruce McCall (Norwalk HS) place ninth in
the 60-meter hurdles.
