MAJOR: PHYSICAL EDUCATION/CULINARY ARTS

Cerritos Track & Field (2008): Placed sixth in the state championships in the high jump… Is tied for the third highest high jump in school history at 6’ 9”… Placed third in the high jump at the Southern California Champions and the South Coast Conference Championships… Also competed in the javelin (159’ 1”), triple jump (43’ 9ľ”), 200 meters (23.42) and 400 meters (51.85)…..

Long Beach Poly HS: Attended Cal State Dominguez Hills out of high school, but did not compete in sports… Team won the State Championship his senior year, while they won the CIF Championship his junior and senior season… Selected 1st Team All-Press Telegram Dream Team as a senior after earning 2nd Team recognition as a junior… Helped the team to three straight Moore League championships… Was a 1st Team All-League selection as a senior after earning 2nd Team honors as a junior… Named the team’s Most Inspirational Player both seasons… Placed second in the high jump at the CIF and State Championships his senior season… In his junior year, he won the league championship, as well as the Arcadia Invitational championship…..

Personal: Most memorable moment was winning both the open and invitational high jump title at the Arcadia Invitational on the same day… Would like to transfer to Arizona State University… Aspires to be an executive chef… Likes to go bowling in his spare time… Nicknamed “Nick”… Has two siblings – Elizabeth (25) and Alexandria (15)… Is the son of Lenny Armstrong and Nellie Smith… Born in Long Beach, CA on December 15, 1987…..
