Cerritos Track & Field (2008):
Won the South Coast Conference championship in
the javelin with a throw of 182’, which was the
fifth-best distance in school history… Qualified
for the Southern California Preliminaries, but
did not place… Also competed in the pole vault
(12’ 6”), shot put (35’ 4¼”) and discus (109’
2”)… Will be one of the team’s decathletes this
season…..
Cerritos HS:
Set the district record in the pole vault at
15’… Height also set a new school and Suburban
League record… Named 2nd Team
Press Telegram Dream Team… Named the
league’s Most Valuable Player as a senior… Also
won the district and league title as a junior…
Selected the team’s Most Improved Athlete and
Field Athlete of the Year his junior season
after being named the Most Improved Athlete on
the frosh-soph team his sophomore year… Went
undefeated in league competition three straight
seasons… As a member of the football team, he
earned the Black Shield Award as a junior and
senior…..
Personal:
Most memorable moment was when he set the
district, league and school pole vault record in
winning the league championship… Aspires to be a
register nurse… Likes to go surfing and
bodyboarding in his spare time… Has two siblings
– Casey (16) and Brianna (12)… Is the son of
Brian and Mina Thomas… Born in Korea on
September 27, 1989….. |
