Although they
entered a smaller team than usual, the Cerritos
College men's track and field still did well at the
California Relays, which the school hosted over the
weekend. The Falcons, who will also host the
Southern California Decathlon Championships this
Tuesday and Wednesday, won one event and placed
second in two others over the weekend.
Sophomore distance
runner
Qualaun Reed
(Cabrillo HS) captured the 3000-meter
steeplechase with a time of 9:48.85, while sophomore
teammate
Armando Pina
(Kennedy HS) placed fourth with a clocking
of 10:10.30. Freshman sprinter
William
English (Montebello HS) was a
second place finisher in the 100 meters with a time
of 10.85, while his time of 22.53 put him in seventh
place in the 200 meters.
Sophomore
Brandon
Dickson (Long Beach Millikan HS)
saw his long jump of 22' 8" put him in second place,
while his time of 49.79 was good enough for third
place in the 400 meters. Sophomore
Bruce
McCall (Norwalk HS) was a
fourth place finisher in the 110-meter hurdles with
a time of 15.24.
