ends Falcon season
The Cerritos College men's water polo
team allowed six unanswered goals to Long Beach City
College in their Southern California Regional Playoff
game at Cypress College on Friday morning. It turned a
3-2 Viking lead into an insurmountable 9-2 deficit for
the Falcons, and resulted in a 13-5 loss, which ended
their season. Cerritos (19-11), the #8-seeded team,
advanced to the second round after a 9-8 win over
Riverside College on Wednesday night. Top-seeded Long

advance in playoffs
The Cerritos College men's water polo
team held off a late comeback by Riverside Community
College on Wednesday in a first round Southern
California Regional Playoff game played at Cypress
College. The Falcons recorded a 9-8 win over the Tigers
to advance to the second round, where they will face
South Coast Conference champion and defending state
champion Long Beach City College on Friday at 9:00 a.m.
at Cypress. Cerritos, seeded #8 in the playoffs, (19-10)
dropped a 15-9 decision to the Vikings earlier in the
year, while LBCC enters the game 25-2 on the year and

round of playoffs
After placing third in the South Coast
Conference Tournament this past week, the Cerritos
College men's water polo team was seeded #8 for the
Southern California Regional Playoffs, which will be
held at Cypress College. The Falcons, 18-10 on the year,
will square off against #9 seed, Riverside City College

third place in SCC

HS) scored four times to lead the Cerritos
College men's water polo team to a 12-8 win over Mt. San
Antonio College in the third place game of the South
Coast Conference Tournament, held at Chaffey College on
Saturday. With the win, the Falcons are now 18-10 on the
year and will find out on Sunday if they made the
playoffs and, if so, where the game will be played on

11.03.06 - Falcons drop semi-final
game against Chaffey
The Cerritos College men's water polo
team opened the South Coast Conference Championships in
strong fashion with a 21-6 win over Los Angeles
Trade-Tech College on Thursday at Chaffey College. But
in their semi-final game, they dropped a 13-11 decision
to the host Panthers later that day, which puts them in
the semi-final game on Saturday at 10:30 a.m. against
Mt. San Antonio College. For the Falcons (17-10), they
need to defeat the Mounties, who they have already
beaten twice this season, and then wait to find out if
they will be one of the teams selected to compete in the
Southern California Regional Playoffs. Cerritos has
advanced to the State Championships the last two

10.30.06 - Team splits four games at
Saddleback Tournament
The Cerritos College men's water polo
team split the four games they played at the Saddleback
Tournament over the weekend, as they prepare to compete
in the South Coast Conference Tournament this week. The
Falcons opened with a 16-9 win against Southwestern
College and then dropped a close, 13-12 decision to
Grossmont College. They came back the next day and
recorded an impressive 12-11 win over Palomar College
before losing a tightly contested 14-12 game against
Fullerton College. The Falcons are now 16-9 on the
season and will take part in the conference tournament

10.25.06 - Third quarter turns out to
be downfall for Falcons
The Cerritos College men's water polo
team was unable to hold off a second half scoring run by
Chaffey College in their South Coast Conference men's
water polo match at Cerritos on Wednesday afternoon. The
Falcons held a 6-5 halftime lead over the Panthers, only
to see that slip away, and dropped a 14-10 decision,
which allowed Chaffey to finish second in the SCC and
sent Cerritos to third place. With the loss, the
Falcons, ranked #6 in the state, fell to 3-2 in the SCC
and 14-7 overall, while the Panthers, ranked #9,
improved to 4-1 in the SCC and 10-4 on the season. The
team will now compete in the Saddleback Tournament this

The Cerritos College men's water polo
team ran their season record to 14-6 and their South
Coast Conference mark to 3-1 after posting an 18-5 win
at home against El Camino College on Wednesday

Falcons, who host Chaffey College next Wednesday at 3:00
p.m. with the winner securing second place in the

10.16.06 - Cerritos takes three of
four at Cuesta tourney; Loses one game by a goal
The Cerritos College men's water polo
team won three out of their four games at the Cuesta
Tournament this past weekend and were just one goal away
from winning all four. The Falcons opened with an 18-9
win over Southwestern College and then dropped a close
12-11 decision to Orange Coast College. On the second
day, Cerritos defeated both American River College
(13-12) and Citrus College (10-7) to run their season
record to 13-6, as they will resume South Coast
Conference action on Wednesday when they play host to El

10.09.06 - Team drops three of four
games at Citrus Tournament
After their first game of the Citrus
Tournament, the Cerritos College men's water polo team
was feeling good about their 22-13 victory over Santa
Monica College. That feeling seemed to fade after each
following game, as the Falcons dropped their next three
games and saw their season record slip to 10-5 on the
season. Cerritos followed their win with a 19-14 loss to
Ventura College, followed by a heartbreaking 16-15 loss
to Cuesta College, where the Cougars scored at the
buzzer to win. They concluded with an 11-9 loss to Los
Angeles Valley College, with the Monarchs scoring the
final three goals of the game. Cerritos will return to
action when they compete in the Cuesta Tournament on
Friday and Saturday. They were scheduled to host Rio
Hondo College on Wednesday, but the college dropped the

end against Long Beach City
Heading into their South Coast Conference
men's water polo match against cross-town rival Long
Beach City College, the Cerritos College team knew that
the winner would not only have bragging rights, they
would have something more important: an inside track to
the South Coast Conference title. The Falcons, winners
of nine in a row and ranked #6 in the state, saw the
Vikings break open a close 4-3 game and used a strong
second half to post a 15-9 victory. With the loss,
Cerritos is now 9-2 on the season and 2-1 in the SCC,
while the Vikings, ranked #2 in the state, improved to
8-2 overall and 2-0 in conference play. Next up for the
Falcons will be the Citrus Tournament, which will be

09.25.06 - Cerritos sweeps through
four teams to win tourney
By winning all four games at the Merced
Tournament over the weekend, the Cerritos College men's
water polo team has now won nine in a row since a
season--opening loss to top-rated Golden West College.
The Falcons (9-1) posted wins over Santa Rosa (20-16 in
overtime), Merced (13-9), Miramar (16-4) and the Merced
Masters (17-14), a club team. The four wins not only
extended their winning streak, it gave the Falcons the
tournament championship. They will get a test this
Wednesday when they travel to Long Beach City College

LA Trade-Tech
The Cerritos College men's water polo
team won their fifth game in a row and improved to 2-0
in the South Coast Conference with their 19-3 road win
against Los Angeles Trade-Tech College on Wednesday. The
Falcons (5-1) used 11 goal scorers in the game and will
now look to keep their momentum going when they enter
the Merced Tournament, which will be held this Friday

09.13.06 - Cerritos opens conference
with 13-10 win over Mt. SAC
For the second time in four days, the
Cerritos College men's water polo team handed Mt. San
Antonio College a loss. At the Ventura Tournament last
weekend, the Falcons recorded a 13-7 win en route to
winning the consolation championship of the tournament.
On Wednesday, Cerritos (4-1, 1-0) posted a 13-10 victory
at home against the Mounties, which not only was their
fourth win in a row, it also marked the start of South
Coast Conference play. Next up for the Falcons will be
another conference home match, as the team will take on
Los Angeles Trade-Tech College next Wednesday at 3:00

to take consolation title
After staying close with powerful Golden West College in
the first half of their season-opening game at the
Ventura Tournament this past weekend, the Cerritos
College water polo team saw the Rustlers use their depth
to pull away for a 17-6 victory. However, the
Falcons rebounded very nicely, posting wins over Los
Angeles Valley College (13-9), Mt. San Antonio College
(13-7) and Citrus College (17-9) to capture the
consolation championship. This Wednesday, Cerritos (3-1)
will open South Coast Conference action at home and will
