    The Cerritos College men's water polo team ran their season record to 14-6 and their South Coast Conference mark to 3-1 after posting an 18-5 win at home against El Camino College on Wednesday afternoon. The win was the third in a row for the Falcons, who host Chaffey College next Wednesday at 3:00 p.m. with the winner securing second place in the conference.

    In the win over the Warriors, freshman Jose Aguirre (Downey HS) scored four goals to lead the way, as the Falcons jumped out to a quick 5-0 lead at the end of the first quarter. They continued to expand their lead and had nine different players score, while the defense came up with 20 steals. The duo of freshman Jan-Michael Pineda (Cerritos HS) and freshman Steven Baughman (Western HS) each added three goals in the victory, with freshman Kevin Nguyen (Cerritos HS) collecting four steals and added three assists.

    The team's leading goal scorer, freshman Christian Flores (Montebello HS), played sparingly and chipped in with two assists and two steals, while sophomore Cory Pettis (Warren HS) recorded three steals. Freshman goalkeeper Billy Smith (Cypress HS) did a superb job in the net and posted 11 blocks to go along with two steals.
