11.09.07 - Loss to Cuesta ends season
The Cerritos College men’s water polo team saw their bid to advance to the state championships for the third year in a row come to an end after they were defeated by Cuesta College, 15-10, in the first round of the Southern California Regional Playoffs on Friday. The Falcons (19-10), were seeded #6 in the playoffs, while the Cougars were the #3-seeded team. The loss to Cuesta was also the second of the season for Cerritos, who lost to them in the championship game of the Cuesta Tournament earlier in the year...[more]

11.03.07 - Falcons claim sixth seed for regional playoffs
The Cerritos College men’s water polo team will be looking to qualify for the state championship for the third year in a row this season after they found out they have been seeded #6 for the Southern California Regional Playoffs. The Falcons (19-9), who dropped a 7-3 decision to cross town rival Long Beach City College in the South Coast Conference Tournament championship game on Saturday, open the playoffs on Friday. 11.02.07 - Cerritos reaches SCC Tournament finals
Needing only one win to reach the South Coast Conference Tournament championship game, the Cerritos College men’s water polo team was extended to overtime before coming away with a 7-6 win over host Mt. San Antonio College on Friday. The Falcons (19-8), who received a bye in the first round, will now face cross town rival Long Beach City College on Saturday at 2:15 p.m. at Mt. San Antonio College. 10.24.07 - Big win allows for position changes
The Cerritos College men’s water polo team improved their record to 4-1 in the South Coast Conference after a 16-7 win at El Camino College on Wednesday afternoon. The victory also improved the Falcons record to 18-8 on the year, as they prepare for the South Coast Conference Tournament, which will be played next Friday and Saturday at Mt. 10.22.07 - Falcons lose two one-goal games
The Cerritos College men’s water polo team dropped two one-goal games at the Golden West Tournament II this past weekend, while they also won twice. The Falcons have had their share of one-goal contests this season and have posted a 4-3 mark. With their split over the weekend, the team is now 17-8 on the year, as they close out the South Coast Conference schedule on Wednesday when they play a 4:15 p.m. game at El Camino College...[more]

10.13.07 - Team reaches finals of Cuesta Tournament
The Cerritos College men’s water polo team won their first three games of the Cuesta Tournament over the weekend and came up against the host Cougars in the finals. The Falcons were defeated by the Cougars by an 11-7 decision, which puts their season record at 15-6. The team will now resume South Coast Conference play on Wednesday when they travel to Rio Hondo College for a 4:15 match...[more]

10.08.07 - Cerritos splits four games at Citrus Tournament
The Cerritos College men’s water polo team split their four games at the Citrus Tournament this past weekend, but just missed out on winning three of the four. After a 9-5 win over Santa Ana College to start the tournament, they dropped a 14-8 decision to Riverside College and then came back to upend Ventura College, 12-8. In their final game, the Falcons were defeated in overtime by Orange Coast College, 7-6, which puts their season record at 12-5. Cerritos will now have the week off until they enter the Cuesta Tournament this weekend...[more]

10.04.07 - Falcons rebound to defeat Merced
The Cerritos College men’s water polo team rebounded from an emotional South Coast Conference loss to Long Beach City yesterday and defeated visiting Merced College, 17-6 in a non-conference game on Thursday. After a sluggish first half, in which the teams were tied 4-4 at intermission, the Falcons picked up their game and rolled to the victory. The win moves their season record to 10-3 overall, while the Blue Devils dropped to 6-10 on the year. Both teams will now compete in the Citrus Tournament this weekend...[more]

10.03.07 - Missed opportunities lead to loss
If anything, the Cerritos College men’s water polo team can walk away from their 11-6 South Coast Conference loss against Long Beach City College on Wednesday knowing they had their chances to stay within striking distance of the Vikings. The Falcons missed four great scoring chances in the game, which contributed to their stress, as they tried to force the ball inside on several occasions. With the loss, the Falcons, ranked #7 in the state, drop to 9-3 overall and 3-1 in the SCC, while third-ranked Long Beach City improved to 9-6 overall and 2-0 in the SCC. 09.26.07 - Cerritos beats LA Trade-Tech, 18-6
The Cerritos College men’s water polo team scored early and often against Los Angeles Trade-Tech College in their South Coast Conference home match on Wednesday afternoon. The Falcons, ranked #7 in the state, posted an 18-6 win over the Beavers to run their season record to 9-2 overall and 3-0 in the SCC, while LA Trade-Tech dropped to 0-3 in SCC action. 09.19.07 - Men score big win over Mt. SAC
The Cerritos College men’s water polo won their sixth game in a row on Wednesday, as they registered a 12-8 South Coast Conference win at Mt. San Antonio College. With the victory, the Falcons are now 8-2 overall and 2-0 in conference action. The team will now host their first match of the season next Wednesday at 4:15 p.m. when they take on Los Angeles Trade-Tech College...[more]

09.15.07 - Falcons sweep through Cal Lutheran Tournament
The Cerritos College men’s water polo team entered the Cal Lutheran Tournament this weekend knowing they would be facing four-year colleges in each of their matches. They didn’t let that deter them, as they won all four games to run their season record to 7-2. The Falcons opened with an 11-5 win over Whittier College, followed by a tough 6-4 victory over Mercyhurst College. On the next day, they defeated Concordia University, 12-11 and rounded out the tournament with a 10-5 victory over the University of LaVerne. 09.12.07 - Cerritos wins conference opener in overtime
Freshman Louie Espinoza (Montebello HS) scored in overtime to give the Cerritos College men’s water polo team an 8-7 South Coast Conference win at Chaffey College on Wednesday. The win improved the Falcons record to 3-2 overall, while they are 1-0 in the SCC. The team will now enter the Cal Lutheran Tournament over the weekend...[more]

09.08.07 - Falcons open season splitting four tourney games
For the Cerritos College men’s water polo team, their first two days of action to start the 2007 season were 180 degrees in difference. The Falcons, who advanced to the state tournament the last two seasons, won their two opening round games on the first day of the Golden West Tournament. They started with an 11-5 win over Santa Ana College, followed by a 10-7 victory over a very good Riverside College team. On the second day, they suffered a 12-5 loss to the host Rustlers and then were defeated, 9-7 by South Coast Conference opponent Mt. San Antonio College...[more]
