Cerritos (2006):
Was the team’s starting goalkeeper and finished
the season with 221 saves in 29 games… Also
recorded 42 steals and assisted on one goal…
Came up with some incredible saves in tight
games and always seemed to raise his game when
needed… Posted a season-high 15 saves against
the Merced Masters, while also coming up with 12
saves against Los Angeles Trade-Tech College…
Added 11 saves against El Camino College and in
another game against LA Trade-Tech, while he had
10 stops against Palomar College… Was also on
the Falcon swimming team…..
Cypress HS:
Named the Empire League Defensive Player of the
Year as a junior and senior… Also a two-time 1st
Team all-league selection and led his team to
the league championship as a senior, as the team
went undefeated… Established a new school record
for most goalie saves in a season with 210… Also
spent two years on the swimming team and helped
lead them to the league title his senior year
and a second place finish as a senior…
Personal:
Most memorable moment was when his team defeated
Long Beach Wilson High, 18-17, and he was
awarded the game ball… Aspires to be a Navy
SEAL… Father played football in high school and
his brother Rickey (17) is on the wrestling team
at Pacifica High… Has three other siblings –
Melanie (22), Becky (15) and Sarah (9)…
Nicknamed “Billy”… Is the son of Bill and Sheila
Smith… Born in Orange, CA on October 8, 1988….. |
