The Cerritos
College men's water polo team remained undefeated in
South Coast Conference action with a 17-10 win at
Los Angeles Trade-Tech College on Wednesday. The
Falcons, who are 4-0 in SCC play, improved to 14-3
on the year. Not able to spend much time enjoying
the win, the team now travels to Ventura College for
a 3:00 p.m. non-conference game on Thursday before
competing in the Cuesta Tournament over the weekend.
There were several
lineup changes in the win, as goalkeepers
Ian
Pawlowski (La Serna HS) and
Kieran Hattie (Sacred Heart
College, New Zealand) played in the field and
fared very well. Both players scored two goals,
while they each assisted on another and recorded a
steal. Filling in for them in the goal were
sophomore
Dan Biag
(Cerritos HS) and freshman
Ethan
Klotzer (Downey HS), with each
making two saves and combined to allow five goals.
Hattie (six saves) and Pawlowski (two saves) also
played one quarter in goal.
Leading the team
on offense was freshman
Pat Muniz
(Santa Fe HS), who scored five goals and
registered three steals, with the trio of Biag,
Miguel
Villalobos (Whittier HS) and
Daniel Peng (Cerritos HS)
scoring two goals each. Additionally, the
Falcons added 14 assists as Biag, Klotzer,
Jesse
Paredes (Whittier HS) and
Chris Argueta (Cathedral HS)
all dishing out two each.
