UC San Diego:
Attended UC San Diego but did not
play sports…..
Downey HS:
Voted the water polo team’s Most Valuable Player
and was a 1st Team All-San Gabriel
Valley League selection as a senior after
scoring 78 goals… Finished third on the team
with 37 goals his junior year and was an
all-league selection… As a sophomore, he was
voted the junior varsity team’s MVP after
scoring 62 goals and then added 12 more when
called up to the varsity team… That year, the
team advanced to the CIF quarterfinals, but were
defeated, 13-7 by La Canada High… While on the
swimming team, he was voted their MVP as a
senior and sophomore… Turned in a personal best
time of 22.4 in the 50-yard freestyle as a
senior…..
Personal:
Most memorable moment was when he scored five
goals, with six steals and three assists in a
CIF playoff loss to Western High his senior
season… Would like to transfer to Cal State Long
Beach and aspires to be either a chiropractor,
police officer or a business consultant… Likes
to go surfing in his spare time… Has five
siblings – Shawna (26), Amira (24), Jake (22),
James (18) and Ryan (14)… Nicknamed “McNasty”…
Is the son of Keith and Katrina McCarthy… Born
in Artesia, CA on March 13, 1989….. |
