Played for Coach Laurie Capps in high
school… Helped lead her team to three straight
Almont League championships… Named the league’s Most
Valuable Player as a senior after striking out 82
and walking 25, while batting .300 on the season…
Also selected 2nd Team All-Area and was
her team’s Most Valuable Player… As a junior, she
was named her team’s MVP and was a 1st
Team all-league choice… Was selected Athlete of the
Month… Earned 2nd Team all-league
recognition as a sophomore after being an honorable
mention choice her freshman year… Most memorable
moment was when she struck out 10, walked one and
allowed only four hits in a 2-1, 15-inning win over
San Gabriel High as a junior… Majoring in education
and would like to transfer to either Cal State Los
Angeles or Long Beach State… Likes to talk on the
phone in her spare time… Has three siblings –
Kimberly (20), Oscar (13) and Evelyn (10)… Is the
daughter of Oscar and Evelia Hernandez… Born in
Monterrey Park, CA on April 5, 1987….. |
