Former Cerritos College softball player Nicole Deel concluded her collegiate playing career by being named 2nd Team All-Lone Star Conference as a utility player this season. As a senior at Abilene Christina University, Deel batted .341 on the year with five home runs and 24 RBI on the season, as she started 40 of the Wildcat's 45 games, with the team posting a 24-21 record. In her junior year, Deel posted one of the top offensive seasons in Adeline Christian history, hitting .339 with 13 home runs and 55 RBI. She earned 1st Team All-Conference honors that year and was a 2nd Team NFCA All-Region selection. In that junior season, Deel's 13 home runs led the conference and were the second most in school history, while her 55 RBI were also the second most in the school's history.
Although the team failed to make the regional playoffs this season, they qualified last year, with the team winning 40 games. For her career, Deel batted .340 with 18 home runs, 79 RBI and also hit 24 doubles.
While with the Falcons in 2004, Deel helped the team to their first South Coast Conference championship since 1990 and were seeded #2 in the Southern California Regional Playoffs and finished 30-9. In her sophomore year of 2005, Deel batted .365 with nine home runs and 33 RBI, as the team placed second in the conference and were 29-10 on the season. The nine round-trippers were a single-season school record, while Deel (12) still holds the career home run record.
