Named 1st Team All-South Coast
Conference as the designated player… Came on
strong in the postseason and finished the year
batting .343 with four doubles and 27 RBI… Hit
her lone home run against Riverside College in
the regional playoffs and drove in four runs
that game… Went 10-for-26 (.385) in the
post-season and drew eight walks… Had a
season-long nine-game hitting streak that saw
her batting average improve by 82 points (.292
to .374)… Registered 13 multiple-hit games,
including three-hit games against Pasadena City
College and College of the Canyons…..
Warren HS:
Played for Coach Mary Starksen in high school…
Helped lead her team to two straight San Gabriel
League championships, including an undefeated
season her senior year… Team advanced all the
way to the CIF championship game… Named 2nd
Team All-League… Missed the majority of her
junior year with injuries… Was an All-League
Honorable Mention choice as a sophomore, while
also being named the Most Valuable Player of the
cheer squad… Was also on the cheer squad..…
Personal:
Most memorable moment was advancing all the way
to the state championship game last season… Is
studying to be a physical therapist or a high
school coach and teacher… Would like to transfer
to either Hawaii Pacific University or San Jose
State University… Her uncle, Bob Bailey was the
first professional baseball bonus baby for the
Pittsburgh Pirates and played on the 1976
Cincinnati Reds World Series championship team…
Another uncle, Rick Zak, played professional
football for the New England Patriots, while her
grandfather was third in the state at Long Beach
City College in golf in 1960… Likes to play
Sonic in her spare time… Has a twin brother,
Adam (19), who is the starting center on the
Falcon football team, and another brother,
Justin (21)… Is the daughter of Dennis and Sandi
Cox… Born in Bellflower, CA on June 7, 1988….. |
