After recording two
wins on the first
day of the
California Community
College Athletic
Association Softball
Sate Championships
at Orange Terrace
Park in Riverside,
the Cerritos College
softball team will
now face Mt. San
Antonio College on
Saturday at 7:00
p.m. in the
championship
semi-final. The
winner of the game
will automatically
advance to the state
championship game,
while the loser will
have to win three
times on Sunday to
capture the state
championship.
The Falcons (41-5),
the #2-seeded team
from the South, and
Mt. San Antonio
(37-16), the #3 seed
from the South, are
no strangers. As
members of the South
Coast Conference,
the two have faced
each other three
times this season,
with Cerritos
winning twice. Last
year, Cerritos
forced a
winner-take-all
against Mt. San
Antonio in the state
championships, with
the Mounties posting
a 4-0 victory for
the title. Cerritos
opened the state
championships this
year with wins over
San Jose City
College (9-1) and
College of the
Siskiyous (8-0),
