Former Cerritos
College softball player Manisha Vadgama,
who graduated in 2004, recently received the
Certificate of Merit Award by the Deans of Michigan
State Law School. Vadgama earned the award by
receiving the highest grade in her Research and
Writing Class, which is reviewed very closely by law
firms when hiring new partners.
In addition to her
Merit Award, Vadgama has also been the recipient of
two Nancy Kelly Academic Scholarships, which is
awarded each year to an outstanding sophomore
softball student-athlete who displays high academic
achievement. Vadgama, who completed her Bachelor's
Degree at UC San Diego, also received the
scholarship in 2004 after completing her sophomore
season.
While playing with
the Falcons, Vadgama was a 2nd Team All-South Coast
Conference outfielder as a sophomore, as the team
won the South Coast Conference championship for the
first time since 1990.
