Cerritos Softball (2009):
Turned in one of the most underpublicized
seasons in the school’s history… Named 1st
Team All-South Coast Conference and was also
selected to the All-State Tournament Team…
Batted an amazing .436 on the year with 16 home
runs and 51 RBI… Finished second on the team
with 72 hits and led the team with 67 runs
scored… Also tied for second on the team with 25
walks, while she led the team with 18 stolen
bases and six triples… Her .873 slugging
percentage was second on the squad… Her numbers
placed her in the top 12 in single-season record
for batting average (.436, 12th),
home runs (16, 2nd), RBI (51, 5th),
hits (72, 4th), doubles (12, 12th),
triples (6, 2nd), runs scored (67, 2nd),
walks (25, 3rd) and stolen bases (18,
8th)… Had at least one hit in 40 of
the 50 games she’s started… Had a 10-game
hitting streak where she went 17-for-31 (.548)
with four home runs and 12 RBI… Went a period
where she hit a home run in four of five games,
which included a two-HR game against Cypress
College in the state tournament and drove in
four runs… Had a season-high four hits (4-for-5,
4 RBI) against San Diego Mesa College and posted
a team-high 22 multiple-hit games… Recorded
three hits in seven other games including two
against Cypress… Pitched in six games and was
3-2 with a 4.31 ERA in 26 innings…
Downey HS:
Named the San Gabriel Valley League’s Co-Most
Valuable Pitcher as a senior… Also selected 1st
Team All-CIF … Helped the team reach the third
round of the CIF Playoffs… Spent a season on the
basketball team…..
Personal:
Most memorable moment was getting her ERA under
1.00 by the end of her senior season… Would like
to transfer to Cal State Fullerton and study to
be a high school teacher… Her father competed on
the gymnastics team at South Gate High… Likes to
spend time with family and friends in her spare
time… Nicknamed “Lo”… Has one sibling – Adrian…
Is the daughter of Andrew and Maria Castrellon…
