Joining the coaching staff
for her first season is Jenel Guadagno, who
recently concluded her collegiate career at
Point Loma Nazarene University, where she
earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in
Physical Education. From 2007-08, Guadagno
was a two-time 1st Team All-South
Coast Conference selection, while she earned
All-Southern California recognition. She
helped lead the team to the state
championship game two years in a row, while
they won the title her sophomore year. In
that year, she batted .394 with 48 RBI and
21 stolen bases.
A two-year started at Point Loma, Guadagno
batted .349 her junior year with 10 doubles,
37 RBI and 21 stolen bases, while she
followed that campaign by hitting .276 with
23 RBI as a senior. As a prep athlete at
Warren High, Guadagno was named the San
Gabriel Valley League’s Most Valuable Player
and the school’s Athlete of the Year her
senior year and was named to the Press
Telegram Dream Team. She helped them win
two league titles and they advanced to the
CIF championship game and was a three-time
all-league pick.
Guadagno plans to continue her education and
earn her teaching credential, as well as her
Master’s Degree. Her career ambition is to
be a teacher and softball coach at the
collegiate level. |
