After the first two games of a three-game round-robin pushed the start of the final contest past 4:00 p.m., it was decided by both schools that the softball game between Cerritos College and Antelope Valley College was ruled as a cancelled contest. The ruling was made because it was not determined prior to the start of the day what the ruling would be should the third game not be completed due to darkness. At the time it became too dark to continue the game, the Falcons held a 6-5 lead over the Marauders after four completed innings.
Cerritos (2-1), who dropped an 8-1 decision to Saddleback College earlier in the day, will now host Grossmont College at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday, and then Santiago Canyon College at the same time on Wednesday.
The cancelled game washed out a strong hitting effort by the Falcons, which included a two-run home run from freshman third baseman Ariana Mejia (Gahr HS), as well as a pair of hits by sophomore second baseman Alexxa Sanabria (Palm Springs HS).
