From 2007-09, Kodee Murray took her team
to the State Tournament, and was close to making it a
fourth year in a row until a pair of upset losses ended
the team's 2010 season. Ranked #1 in the state heading
into the post-season, the Falcons finished 2010 with a
39-6 record and won their third straight South Coast
Conference title. During the 2009 season, Murray led the
Falcons to a 41-11-1 record and finished in the Final
Four of the state tournament. In addition to that, they
entered the state tournament winning their last 12
post-season games. Since arriving on campus in 2002,
Murray has lifted the program to one the state’s most
elite and reached the pinnacle during the 2008 season.
After guiding an all-freshman team to the championship
game in 2007, she brought an experienced team back to
the state tournament in 2008. They made their intention
known that the state championship was what they were
there for and by the time the dust had settled, the
Falcons had their second state title in school history.
Murray guided the team to a 43-5 record, which included
a 5-1 win over Mt. San Antonio College in the state
championship game. The wins set a new school record,
while this year’s team is looking to eclipse that mark.
Just completing her ninth season, Murray has posted a
290-104-2 (.735) record, which includes four South Coast
Conference championships, including the last three
seasons, while the team has advanced to the Southern
California Regional Playoffs all nine years. Ever since
she arrived, Murray has established herself as one of
the top-notch coaches in the state, and was honored this
year by being voted the state's Coach of the Year. Back
in 2007, she was named the Southern California Coach of
the Year, while she has been named the conference Coach
of the Year three times, including 2010. Back in 2004,
the team won their first conference championship in 14
years and were the #2-seeded team in Southern
California, while they have also been seeded #2 the last
two seasons, as well.
