Named 2nd Team All-South Coast
Conference… Finished third on the team with 227 kills
and was also second on the squad in digs (244) and third
in service aces (26)… Recorded double-digit kills in 10
matches, including a season-high 16 in a win over Mt.
San Antonio College and 15 in playoff win over Golden
West College… Spent the last two years on the Falcon
track and field team and set a new school record in the
pole vault at 11’ 0” and was a member of the state
championship squad last season… Just missed out on
advancing to the state tournament both seasons, but tied
for sixth in the Southern California championships as a
freshman… Named her high school’s Athlete of the Year as
a senior… As a senior, she was named the Del Rio League
Most Valuable Player as was her team’s MVP as a junior
and senior… Also led her team to the league
championship… Named the Whittier Daily News
Athlete of the Week during her sophomore, junior and
senior seasons… Was a 1st Team All-League
selection as a junior and was named 2nd Team
her sophomore year… Spent four years on the volleyball
and track teams, while also playing one year of soccer…
Named 1st Team All-League as a senior in
soccer and won the league title in the hurdles on the
track team as a junior… Named All-League in track as a
freshman and sophomore, while going undefeated in hurdle
races as a freshman and junior… Most memorable moment
was when she recorded 40 kills and 28 digs her senior
year in a match against La Serna High… Also mentioned
recording 10 shutouts in a season as a goalkeeper on the
soccer team… Working on a minor in massage therapy… Is
studying to be an orthodontist… Craziest ambition is to
compete in the pole vault in the Olympics… Likes to work
out n her spare time… Nicknamed “Jen”… Is the daughter
of Frank and Lisa Espinosa… Born in Beverly Hills, CA on
June 24, 1986….. |
