When she was a volleyball player for Cerritos College, Kristy Pesanti was considered the consummate teammate. Whether it was being a go-to player on the court, or a trusted friend, Kristy was someone you walked away from feeling like you were around a special person. 11.16.07 - Three named all-conference
Sophomore libero Vanessa Mojica (Whittier HS), who led the Cerritos College volleyball team in digs, was recently named 1st Team All-South Coast Conference, while the team’s top two hitters were selected to the 2nd Team. The Falcons, who finished in fifth place in conference play with a 6-8 record, were 6-19 on the season. 11.14.07 - Season comes to an end for Cerritos
The Cerritos College volleyball season closed out their season on Wednesday with a 15-30, 17-30, 19-30 South Coast Conference loss against conference champion El Camino College. The loss ended the Falcons record at 6-19 overall, while they finished in fifth place in SCC action...[more]

11.09.07 - Falcons put up good fight in loss
Although the Cerritos College volleyball team suffered a 27-30, 21-30, 33-35 South Coast Conference loss to Mt. San Antonio College on Friday night, the team pushed the Mounties to the limit in two of the games. The Falcons, (6-18 overall, 6-7 SCC) appeared to have the third game won, but saw a 29-22 lead get away. It culminated one of the more intense performances by the squad all season long. 11.07.07 - Win over LA City evens conference record
The Cerritos College volleyball team evened their South Coast Conference record at 6-6 after defeating Los Angeles City College, 30-28, 30-26, 30-17 on the road Wednesday night. Although the team will miss the post-season this year, the Falcons (6-17) were able to record some wins on the year and received very good performances along the way. Cerritos will close out their home schedule on Friday night with a 7:30 p.m. contest against Mt. San Antonio College and finish off their season next Wednesday at El Camino College...[more]

11.02.07 - Cerritos outlasts East LA for win
The Cerritos College volleyball team received double-digit kills from three players to help lead them to a 30-21, 30-16, 25-30, 30-25 South Coast Conference win at home on Friday against East Los Angeles College. The victory now gives the Falcons a 5-17 record on the year, while they are 5-6 in SCC play. The team will now travel for a 3:00 p.m. game at Los Angeles City College on Wednesday...[more]

10.31.07 - Falcons record three-game sweep over LATT
Sophomore middle blocker Kristin Mendoza (St. Paul HS) put away 11 kills to help lead the Cerritos College volleyball team to a 30-22, 30-26, 30-18 South Coast Conference win over Los Angeles Trade-Tech College on Wednesday night. With the win, the Falcons are now 4-17 overall and 4-6 in conference action. 10.26.07 - Team loses in four games to rival LBCC
Looking to salvage their season with a win over their rival, the Cerritos College volleyball team was defeated in four games by Long Beach City on Friday night. The 25-30, 30-27, 26-30, 22-30 setback dropped the Falcons to 3-17 on the year and 3-6 in South Coast Conference play. The team has five matches left on the year and they will travel to Los Angeles Trade-Tech College on Wednesday for a 6:00 p.m. contest. 10.24.07 - Cerritos defeated by Pasadena City in four
The Cerritos College volleyball team lost their third straight South Coast Conference match on Wednesday night, as they were defeated by Pasadena City College, 26-30, 31-29, 17-30, 20-30. The setback puts the Falcons record at 3-16 on the year, while they are now 3-5 in conference action. 10.19.07 - Falcons get swept by El Camino
The Cerritos College volleyball team found themselves facing one of the toughest teams in the state on Friday night, and the end result was a three game sweep by El Camino College in a South Coast Conference match. 10.17.07 - Loss to Mt. SAC ends winning streak at three
The Cerritos College volleyball team was enjoying a three-game South Coast Conference winning streak after opening their season with 13 consecutive losses. The streak came to an end on Wednesday, as Mt. San Antonio handed the Falcons (3-14, 3-3) a 17-30, 23-30, 20-30 loss. 10.12.07 - Cerritos improves winning streak to three games
Freshmen Brittany Hayes (Artesia HS) and Samantha Montiel (Montebello HS) each recorded 10 kills to help lead the Cerritos College volleyball team to their third consecutive South Coast Conference win after they defeated Los Angeles City College, 30-23, 30-27, 31-29 on Friday night. 10.10.07 - Five-set win gives Falcons second victory
After losing their first 13 games to start the season, the Cerritos College volleyball team picked up their second win in a row, as they defeated East Los Angeles College in five sets, 30-21, 17-30, 29-31, 30-21, 15-8 in a South Coast Conference match on Wednesday. The Falcons are now 2-13 on the season, as well as being 2-2 in conference play. 10.05.07 - Win over LA Trade-Tech ends losing skid
On the strength of sophomore Kristin Mendoza’s (St. Paul HS) season-high 16 kills, the Cerritos College volleyball team picked up their first win of the season, as they defeated Los Angeles Trade-Tech College, 30-22, 30-18, 30-22 in a South Coast Conference match on Friday night. The win now gives the Falcons a 1-13 record on the year and a 1-2 mark in the SCC, while the Lady Techsters dropped to 0-6 overall and 0-3 in conference play. 10.03.07 - Long Beach City hands Falcons conference loss
The No. 17 state-ranked Long Beach City College volleyball team cruised to a three-game sweep of visiting cross town rival Cerritos College in a South Coast Conference match on Wednesday night. The Falcons dropped the match by scores of 15-30, 30-32 and 15-30. The win improved Long Beach to 8-3 overall and 1-1 in the SCC, while Cerritos dropped to 0-13 and 0-2 in conference play. 09.28.07 - Cerritos comes up short against Pasadena City
Looking to turn their season around with the start of South Coast Conference play, the Cerritos College volleyball team extended Pasadena City College (3-6 overall, 1-0 SCC) to four games before succumbing to a 27-30, 28-30, 30-26, 23-30 decision. The loss dropped the Falcons to 0-12 on the season and 0-1 in conference action. 09.26.07 - Falcons fight hard in loss to Fullerton
Playing with a newfound enthusiasm, the Cerritos College volleyball team came out against #4-ranked Fullerton College and fought hard in their non-conference match on Wednesday night. But the results were the same, as the Falcons (0-10) dropped a 20-30, 23-30, 17-30 decision to the Hornets (6-1). Cerritos will now open South Coast Conference play on Friday when they host winless Pasadena City College at 7:30 p.m....[more]

09.24.07 - Team loses three at San Diego Mesa Tournament
The Cerritos College volleyball team went to the San Diego Mesa Tournament with the intent on getting their first win of the season. In their three matches, they were swept twice, but had a great chance for a victory, but were defeated in five games. After opening with a 20-30, 10-30, 16-30 loss to Los Angeles Pierce College, they dropped a 13-30, 23-30, 21-30 match to rival and South Coast Conference team Long Beach City College. On the second day, they jumped out to a 30-27, 30-22 lead over Victor Valley College before losing the next three games, 27-30, 28-30, 13-15. 09.19.07 - Cerritos swept by defending state champs
The Cerritos College volleyball team dropped their sixth match in a row, as they were defeating by defending state champion Orange Coast College 15-30, 21-30, 26-30 on Wednesday night. The Falcons (0-6) will now enter the San Diego Mesa Tournament over the weekend...[more]

09.15.07 - Falcons still in search of win
The Cerritos College volleyball team entered the Santa Monica Tournament on Saturday with hopes of picking up their first win of the season after several close calls. But after losses to Santa Barbara City College (19-30, 28-30, 20-30) and Santa Monica College (20-30, 23-30, 25-30), the Falcons dropped to 0-5 on the season. 09.12.07 - First win still eludes Falcons
In their first match at home this season, the Cerritos College volleyball team didn’t really come to life until the third game against College of the Canyons on Wednesday. But by then, the deficit was too great, as the Falcons dropped a 17-30, 13-30, 26-30 non-conference match to drop to 0-3 on the year. 09.10.07 - Cerritos swept by Ventura
The Cerritos College volleyball team is primarily a freshman squad this season and after a tightly contested first match of the season, they found themselves against one of the better teams in Southern California on Monday night. The Falcons lost their second straight match of the season, as they were swept by Ventura College, 18-30, 16-30, 18-30. They will try for their first win of the season on Wednesday when they host College of the Canyons at 5:00 p.m. in their home opener...[more]

09.07.07 - Falcons drop first match of the season
In their first match of the season, the Cerritos College volleyball team already faced the tense nature of close competition. On Friday, the Falcons suffered a 27-30, 29-31, 27-30 non-conference loss to host Citrus College.
