The Cerritos
College volleyball team improved their season record
to 7-3, while they are now 4-1 in South Coast
Conference play after their 25-12, 25-14, 25-15
sweep of Los Angeles Harbor College on Wednesday
night. The Falcons will now return home to host
Pasadena City College at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
In sweeping the
Seahawks, the Falcons hit an impressive .405 as a
team and were led by sophomore
Sarah Naranjo (Santa Fe HS),
who recorded 14 kills in 21 attempts without an
error in just two games. In addition, freshman Chanelle Puou
(California HS) drilled home 11 kills with
just two errors, while sophomore Yawen
Zhan (China) finished with six
kills and just one error.
Cerritos gave
sophomore setter
Monique Gayton (La Serna HS)
the night off, but it didn't slow down the offense
one bit. Sophomore
Kristen Trillo (Santa Fe HS)
filled in and dished out 34 assists, while also
leading the team with three service aces and also
posted a pair of kills. Freshman
Sarah
Rodriguez (Montebello HS)
contributed four kills and five digs, with sophomore
Angelica Sievers (St. Joseph HS)
leading the team in digs with seven.
