02.24.07 - Season comes to an
end after loss to Pasadena City
When playing one of the
best teams in the state, it's important to make
your high-percentage shots and keep turnovers to
a minimum. For the Cerritos College women's
basketball team on Saturday night, the first
half of their Southern California Regional
Playoff game at Pasadena City College was
everything an underdog tries to avoid when
facing a powerhouse team. The Falcons (18-15),
seeded 18th in the playoffs, shot just 8-of-24
(33%) from the field and committed 20 turnovers
against the second-ranked Lancers in the first
half. That put the team behind, 39-27, and it
didn't get any better in the second half, as
Pasadena City (32-1) pulled away for a 75-62
win, which ended the season for Cerritos...[more]

they could, but didn't have enough firepower to
pull off the upset and dropped a 75-54 South
