assistant coach at Cal State Dominguez Hills
for the men’s program and one season as a
part-time special assistant. In the summer
of 2003, Johnson coached the Dominguez
basketball team in the Dino Smiley
Semi-Professional Drew League, which
included some current and former NBA
players, as well as top overseas and college
players. From 1996-99, he was the second
assistant for the women’s team at Cal State
Dominguez Hills and Johnson began his
coaching career in 1993 with the City of
Rancho Cucamonga Youth Basketball League.
Johnson prepped
at Alta Loma High and then moved on to
Chaffey College, where he received an
Associate of Arts degree in General
Education and Liberal Arts and Sciences. He
