Cerritos (2006-07): Missed the season due to an injury…..

Cerritos (2005-06): Named 1st Team All-South Coast Conference… Led the team by averaging 15.9 points and 7.8 rebounds a game… Her 541 points on the year were the seventh most in school history, while her 61 blocked shots were the third most in one season in school history… Shot .406 from the field (206-for-507), and led the team with a .756 free throw shooting percentage… Also led the team with 33 three-pointers made and had a streak where she scored in double-figures in 15 consecutive games… Also led the team with 53 steals, while her 48 assists were the fourth highest on the team… Led the team in scoring 21 times, including nine games of 20 points or more… Had a season-high 33 points in a win over Mt. San Antonio College, while she also had 28 points in a loss to Santa Ana College… Also led the team in rebounding in 18 games, with a season-high 15 caroms in a loss to El Camino College…..

Downey HS: As a senior in high school, she averaged 23 points, 15 rebounds and three blocked shots to earn 1st Team All-San Gabriel Valley League… Also selected to the Press Telegram Dream Team and was a 1st Team All-CIF selection… Voted her team’s Most Valuable Player… Spent her first three years at Narbonne High and was an All-Marine League choice as a junior…

Personal: Most memorable moment was when she scored 20 points with 10 rebounds to help lead her team to the championship of the Downey Classic Tournament and earned the Most Valuable Player Award despite being sick… Wound up passing out after the game and ended up being taken to the hospital by paramedics… Likes to play basketball in her spare time… Nicknamed “Malzy”… Is the daughter of Helen Burris… Born in Bellflower, CA on July 18, 1987…..
