11.06.09 - Falcons open season
with loss to Irvine Valley
The Cerritos College
women's basketball team opened their 2009-10
season on the road at Irvine Valley College on
Friday night and came out on the short end of a
60-40 decision. The Falcons (0-1) struggled from
the field, as they netted just 1-of-22 shots
from three-point range and committed 28
turnovers. The team will look to turn things
around when they travel to the Sierra Tournament

07.29.09 - Pair of players
announce plans
Cerritos College women's basketball players
Mercedes Taylor (Gahr HS)
and
Rachel Butler (Calvary Chapel
HS) have both announced their plans for the
future after completing their Falcon careers.
Taylor, who was named the South Coast Conference
South Division Player of the Year and was a 3rd
Team All-State selection, will be continuing her
education and playing career at Cal Poly Pomona.
As for Butler, who was 1st Team all-conference
selection and a member of two state championship
track and field teams, will compete in both
sports at William Penn University in Iowa...[more] |
