The Cerritos College
women's basketball team saw their season come to an end
on Saturday night when they were defeated, 76-51 in the
second round of the Southern California Regional Women's
Basketball Playoffs at Mt. San Antonio College. The
16th-seeded Falcons (21-13) opened the playoffs by
defeating Santa Barbara City on Wednesday night, but
were upended by the top-seeded Mounties, who are the
three-time defending state champions.
From the outset of the game, the deeper Mountie team had too
much for the Falcons to contain, and trailed 31-16 at
intermission, while they fell behind by as many as 31
points. Cerritos shot just 25.8% from the field on the
night, while Mt. San Antonio converted on 43% of their
field goals.
