Both the Cerritos College men's and women's
basketball teams won the South Coast Conference
South Division this season and were each rewarded
with bids in the upcoming Southern California
Regional Playoffs. The Falcon men's team was seeded
#12 out of the 20 teams and will receive a bye in
the first round. They will travel to Mt. San Antonio
College, champions of the South Coast Conference
North Division and #5-seeded team on Friday for a
7:00 p.m. game. Cerritos (18-10) did not face the
Mounties (24-4) this season, while the winner will
play on March 6 at a site to be determined by the
first two rounds.
On
the women's side, the Falcons (18-11) were seeded
#12 out of the 18 teams and will face Riverside
College (21-8) in the second round at 5:30
p.m. on Saturday. Earlier in the season, Cerritos dropped a
71-65 non-conference game against the Tigers. The
winner of the game will face the winner of the
Pasadena City-Irvine Valley winner on March 6.
