If the
Cerritos College women's basketball team is
going to look back on their 68-66 loss to
Riverside College in the second round of the
Southern California Regional Playoffs on Friday
night at Gahr High School, they need only to
look at their free throw shooting. The Falcons,
who entered the post-season as the #4-seeded
team, were a porous 16-for-30 from the charity
stripe, while their 8-of-32 three-point shooting
didn't stand out as much as their free throw
inaccuracy.
Cerritos (23-7), who came in a tie for second
place in the competitive South Coast Conference,
had one last chance to send the game into
overtime, but a last-second shot by sophomore
guard Montanique
Washington (Long Beach Jordan HS)
rimmed out and the loose ball rolled out of bounds
as the clock expired...[more]

team to gain a little breathing room in the
tightly-contested South Coast Conference, the
team encountered their worst shooting night of
the season against visiting Pasadena
City College at Gahr High School on Tuesday
night. The Falcons entered the night with a half

The

losing games by double-digits. On Tuesday in a
South Coast Conference game at Gahr High School,
Cerritos jumped out to a 40-22 lead and turned
that into an impressive 83-70 win over the
Mounties. The Falcons (18-5, 8-2), who moved
