at SoCal Championships
The Cerritos College
women's cross country team finished ninth at the
Southern California Regional Championships,
which took place at Mt. San Antonio College on
Friday, and will now advance to the state
championships. The team will have two weeks
before the travel to Woodward Park in Fresno to
run the state championships. Glendale College
easily won the championship with 38 team points,
while Orange Coast College was second with 87
points. Two South Coast Conference teams - Mt.
San Antonio (3rd place) and Los Angeles
Trade-Tech (6th place) finished ahead of the

10.31.09 - Duo helps team
place third at conference championships
At the South Coast
Conference Championships on Saturday at Legg
Lake in El Monte, the Cerritos College women's
cross country duo of freshmen
Erika
Sandoval (La Mirada HS)
and
Sandra
Flores (El Rancho HS) both
ran strong races over the 5K course and finished
in the top 10. Their placing, along with the
next three Falcon runners enabled the team to
finish third in the championships with 85 team
points and edged fourth place Pasadena City
College by one point. Mt. San Antonio College
won the championship with 23 teams points, while
Los Angeles Trade-Tech College compiled 64
points to place second. The team will now travel
to Mt. San Antonio College for the Southern
California Championships, which will take place

10.17.09 - Cerritos finishes
eighth in large field
The Cerritos College
women's cross country team took eighth place out
of 32 teams at the Southern California Preview
Meet on Saturday at Mt. San Antonio College. The
Falcons finished with 294 team points and
finished behind four teams from California and
three four outside the state. After a week off,
the team will run in the South Coast Conference
Championships at Legg Lake in El Monte...[more]
10.02.09 - Falcons hold off
competition for second place
Because of their
ability to run together as a cohesive unit, the
Cerritos College women's cross country team was
able to hold off a pair of schools to lock down
second place at the Crystal Springs
Invitational, which took place on Friday at the
College of San Mateo. The Falcons, who were the
only Southern California school in the
invitational, finished with 92 team points,
which narrowly beat third place De Anza College
(93 team points) and fourth place American River
College (94). Hartnell College won the meet with

09.19.09 - Grouping helps team
do well at Orange Coast
The Cerritos College
women's cross country team had their top seven
runners finish within a 44-second span at the
Orange Coast Classic on Saturday, which was a
strong indicator as to why the team finished in
fourth place out of 18 schools that competed.
The Falcons finished with 135 team points and
were narrowly edged out by Los Angeles
Trade-Tech College for third place, as they
ended up with 127 team points. The host Pirates
won the meet with 24 teams points, while another
South Coast Conference team. Mt. San Antonio
College, placed second with 76 team points. The
team will now take a week off before competing
in the Crystal Springs Invitational in San

09.12.09 - Cerritos takes
sixth at Fresno Invite
Led by sophomore
Erica
Sandoval's (La Mirada HS)
time of 20:33 at the Fresno Invitational, the
Cerritos College women's cross country team
finished in sixth place out of 20 teams on
Saturday. The Falcons compiled 239 team points,
which put them in a tie with Sacramento City
College. Orange Coast College won the
invitational with 41 team points, while South
Coast Conference opponent Mt. San Antonio
College finished in third overall. The team will
now compete in the Orange Coast Classic on

08.29.09 - Women place fourth
in small invitational
The Cerritos College
women's cross country team may have come in
fourth place out of four teams at the UC San
Diego Opener on San Diego, but they were up
against three universities in the meet. Host UC
San Diego won the meet with 26 team points,
followed by Point Loma Nazarene University (34
points) and Sonoma State University with 82
