11.18.06 - Falcons place seventh at state championships
The Cerritos College women's cross country team improved on their 10th place showing at the state championships from last year, by coming in seventh place this past Friday at Woodward Park in Fresno. The Falcons had three runners blocked closely and all three finished the three-mile course in close to twenty minutes to lead the team. Freshman Jessica Arzate (Long Beach Millikan HS) was the 33rd runner to cross the finish line, as she was clocked in 19:45, as a large group of runners were finishing at around the same time. Freshman Angelica Negrete (Western HS) was in that group and placed 36th in 19:47, while sophomore Maria Vargas (Downey HS) was the 51st runner out of 173 racers and finished in 20:04...[more]

11.03.06 - Cerritos takes eighth place at SoCal championships
Freshman Jessica Arzate (Long Beach Millikan HS) placed 17th at the Southern California Championships at Antelope Valley College on Friday in a time of 20:51 to help the Cerritos College women's cross country team place eighth out of 28 teams. The Falcons, who placed fourth in the South Coast Conference Championships, compiled 203 team points and edged conference foe Los Angeles Trade-Tech College by one point. Glendale College won the title with 85 team points, with conference teams Mt. San Antonio (fifth place) and El Camino College (seventh place) finishing ahead of Cerritos. 10.27.06 - Team places fourth in conference championships
The Cerritos College women's cross country team placed fourth in the South Coast Conference Championships on Friday, which were held at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena. The team won the conference title the last two seasons. The Falcons collected 80 team points and trailed conference champion El Camino College, who had 58 team points, followed by Los Angeles Trade-Tech (64 team points), and Mt. San Antonio College, with 67 team points. 10.16.06 - Falcons take 2nd place; Prep for conference
The Cerritos College women's cross country team continued their tune up for the South Coast Conference Championship in Pasadena in two weeks with a second place finish at the Santa Barbara Invitational on Saturday. The Falcons, who compiled 101 team points, were only beat out by Glendale College, with 35 points. There were 15 teams and 129 runners in the 5K race...[more]

10.09.06 - Team wins second straight invitational of the year
For the second week in a row, the Cerritos College women's cross country team beat out all other competitors to win their meet. Two weeks ago, the Falcons won the Riverside Invitational, while they beat out nine other complete teams from Northern California to win the Crystal Springs Invitational in San Mateo this past Saturday. Cerritos had three of their runners finish in the top 10 in scoring and had 53 team points, which bested second place finisher Hartnell College, with 92 team points. 10.02.06 - Cerritos wins first meet of the season at Riverside
For the first time this season, the Cerritos College women's cross country team won an invitational, as they had six of their runners finish in the top 10 to lead the way at the Riverside Invitational on Saturday. The Falcons compiled 26 team points, with Riverside College coming in second place with 33 team points, while Santiago Canyon College and Santa Barbara City College each had only four runners...[more]

09.25.06 - Falcons finish in 5th place at Fresno invitational
The Cerritos College women's cross country team came in fifth place at the Fresno Invitational this past Saturday at Woodward Park, despite a limited squad. The Falcons accumulated 118 team points and trailed only Riverside (79 team points), Southwestern (89), Mt. San Antonio (95) and Bakersfield (100) out of the 15 colleges that participated. The Falcons will now run in the Riverside Invitational this Saturday at 9:00 a.m. in Moreno Valley...[more]

09.11.06 - Cerritos comes in fourth place at SoCal preview
In one of the most important invitational's of the early season, the Cerritos College women's cross country team turned in a fourth place performance at the Southern California Preview Meet, which was held at Antelope Valley College this past weekend. The Falcons accumulated 138 team points and were only beat out by Orange Coast College (1st place; 158 team points), Southwestern College (83) and Riverside College, with 84 team points. Cerritos had 138 points to come in fourth place out of the 20 schools that competed, including South Coast Conference rivals Mt. San Antonio College and El Camino College, who came in fifth and sixth places, respectively...[more]

09.04.05 - Cerritos places 17th in first meet of season
Sophomore Jessica Arzate (Long Beach Millikan HS) was the first Cerritos College women's cross country runner to cross the finish line at the Cal State Fullerton Invitational on Saturday at Carbon Canyon Park in Brea, which marked the first meet of the season for the Falcons. As a team, the Falcons accumulated 447 team points and came in 17th out of 21 teams, which included 14 four-year schools, five community colleges and two open teams. Of the community college teams, only Orange Coast College finished ahead of Cerritos, as they placed ninth overall...[more]
